Care instructions old

monsters doing laundry monsters doing laundry

Hey there!
I'm your new Breden. I was made with love and care and I really hope that you will be as good to me as my maker. I would like to be with you and your kids as long as possible, therefore I'd like to tell you a few things about me:

  1. If I have studs or zippers, please close them before washing
  2. If I have something printed on me, please turn me inside-out to keep me looking bright
  3. If I have pockets, empty them before washing (sand, hidden treasure, chewing gum etc)
  4. Sorry, but I'm really not gonna recover from bleaching, soaking or dry cleaning
  5. I'm also afraid of being hand washed in hot water and drying in the sun
  6. If I'm part of an ensemble (like a hat and a scarf), wash us together to keep us looking the same
  7. Please wash me before using to remove loose color and dust and prevent the prints from being ruined. If you are in a hurry to put me on right after buying and some colors happen to run loose, put me in the washing machine as soon as possible and I should be fine again.

Cotton

Single-layered cotton clothes include bodies, trousers, sleepsuits and onesies, thinner summer hats and scarves, t-shirts, pyjamas and thinner dresses. They’re happiest being washed up to 40°C (104°F) and 800rpm. They should be dried in the usual way, and if necessary, ironed on a medium heat once dry.

The double-layered cotton family includes all cotton lined hats, scarves, hat-scarves and onesies. They’re happiest being washed up to 40°C (104°F) and 800rpm. To keep them in shape, straighten them when wet, immediately after washing. Once dry, iron at medium heat if necessary. Keep in mind that they take longer than most other things to dry, so plan ahead and stock up on patience!

Merino wool

Never wash thinner and thicker merino products together because they have different needs!

Our light merino products are underwear such as bodies, blouses and trousers, and some lighter hats and scarves. They are made from delicate materials and should be washed on a gentle wash program up to 30°C (86°F) and a maximum spin speed of 800rpm. They should never be hand washed, soaked, or wrung. To maintain their correct shape, straighten them immediately after washing and spread on a flat surface (do not hang them!) and if necessary, iron on medium heat once dry. It is best not to wash them much at all, and when possible air them instead as merino is antibacterial. NB: Never wash thinner and thicker merino products together because they have different needs!

The family of thicker merinos are our merino sweats and onesies, designed to keep your little ones snug in the colder temperatures. They are made from delicate materials and should be washed on a gentle wash program up to 0°C (86°F)3 and a maximum spin speed of 400rpm. They should never be hand washed, soaked, or wrung. To maintain their correct shape, straighten them immediately after washing and spread on a flat surface (do not hang them!) and if necessary, iron on medium heat once dry. Our thicker merino-lined products are made for when things get really cold (-7°C or 19°F and below). Made of cotton lined with thick merino wool, the line-up includes scarves, hats, hat-scarves, gloves and beanies. They are made from delicate materials and should be washed on a gentle wash program up to 30°C (86°F) and a maximum spin speed of 400rpm. They should never be hand washed, soaked, or wrung. Several Breden's adult hats, scarves and hat-scarves are made from merino-cotton blend that is perfect for outdoors activities. Since Breden's merino-cotton blend incorporates thicker merino wool fibres it tends to shrink during washing. To prevent that, use delicate washing programs with max 30°C (86°F) and 600 rpm. To maintain its original shape, stretch the item while still wet and lay on a flat surface to dry. If desired, iron with low heat. NB: Never wash thinner and thicker lined merino products together because they have different needs!

You can tell our outdoor sweats by the waterproof details that are added to the regular fabric, on the knees, pockets and elbows. Due to these details, they need to be washed and ironed inside out on low heat. They’re most comfortable up to 30°C (86°F) and a maximum spin speed of 600rpm. They’re designed for adventure, so if needed, they can also be washed with stain remover (such as gall soap). They can be dried the normal way, hung up.
